I am Prashant Jakhamola and most people know me as PrashantJ Yoga.
I am a dedicated yoga teacher, philosopher and a PhD research scholar specialising in Pranayama (Yogic Breathwork). With years of living in ashrams, I have been deeply immersed in the authentic practice and philosophy of yogic lifestyle. I combine both scholarly knowledge and lived experience to offer a holistic understanding of timeless principles of yoga – Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation and Philosophy.
Yoga Asanas
I focus on practices and teachings of both Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga – guiding students to understand each asana from its source, meaning and pronunciation to its proper preparation, formation, benefits and contradictions. I strive to ensure that every yoga posture is practiced with consciousness, mindfulness, safety and purpose.
Pranayama
Pranayama is the soul of my practice and teachings. I focus on the ancient techniques that involve the purification, channelling and preservation of pranic energy. Including specific movements and mudras, these techniques cleanse the body energy channel, paving the way for a deeper connection to self, raising our energy levels.
Through the stages of various pranayama or breathwork, I focus on bringing my students to a point where their breath can lead them to deeper Meditative state.
Yogic Philosophy
I believe yoga is far deeper than the physical concept, it’s a philosophy that transform our soul. My yoga journey and practice is deeply inspired from principles of Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras. The wisdom contained in these ancient texts offers valuable insights for those seeking more meaningful and balanced life. In my classes or courses, I focus on making these valuable texts accessible and relevant to modern life.
